The hotel was in a great location and is quiet. Santos the owner is a friendly guy. Tried to make sure I picked up a few Swahili greeting phrases.

We were welcomed with cold juice on arrival and any trips we wanted were organised. Lovely staff
Al-Minar is great value for money, competing with 4/5 star hotels for a fraction of the cost. The staff go out of their way to ensure your comfort, including sharing a map with nearby restaurants and places of interest upon check-in. The location is convenient to everything you need to see in Zanzibar Town.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Willing to help where ever we needed it. The location was great. We walked every where. You HAVE to go to the forodhandi markets and try the 'Zanzibar pizza' - a 5min walk from the hotel. Was so delicious. The room was clean - had water, tea/coffee and toiletries.
Delightful boutique hotel located in one of the beautiful alleys of Stonetown. Located on street back from the water the hotel if gorgeous rooms of arabesque style with delightful and helpful staff.
The Al Minar hotel is tucked into a sleepy street corner near the Hyatt. Don’t let the unassuming entrance fool you, this hotel is the best deal you’ll get in Stone Town.
Thank you so much. You guys made us feel part of your family. Helpful, Friendly!!! We will definitely see you again. Close to a lot of activities. Rooms are extremely neat. Helpful with tour bookings.
